CO-OP SPOTLIGHT
Sean Ward
Sean is a dedicated junior in the Automotive Technology program. He is driven by a passion for repairing vehicles and a desire to gain hands-on experience in the field. His enthusiasm for working on cars and trucks led him to enroll in the program, where he appreciates the opportunity to learn from Mr. Boylan, "The Best Auto Teacher," and collaborate with friends who share similar interests.
Sean participates in the High School Intern (HSI) Program with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT). This program offers vocational technology students the chance to gain real-world experience by working half-days during the school year and summer. Through his co-op placement at PennDOT's Lewis Run facility, Sean works on a diverse range of equipment, including plow trucks, semis, loaders, and excavators. He values the exposure to various machinery and the opportunity to learn from experienced diesel mechanics.
Looking ahead, Sean plans to continue co-op with PennDOT during the summer and into his senior year, aiming to further develop his skills and prepare for a successful career in the automotive and diesel technology industry. The HSI Program not only provides students like Sean with valuable work experience but also opens pathways to potential full-time employment with PennDOT upon graduation.
Sean's commitment to his education and professional development exemplifies the benefits of combining classroom learning with practical experience, setting a strong foundation for his future in the automotive field.

CO-OP SPOTLIGHT
Joe Cary
Joe is a senior in our Well Drilling program who chose to participate in co-op to gain more welding experience. For his co-op placement, Joe worked at Swanson’s Fabrication, where he learned valuable skills such as metal cutting, welding, and drilling holes in pipes. He enjoyed the experience because of the supportive and kind team he worked with.
Joe plans to continue working at Swansons throughout the summer until he goes to school in the fall. He will be attending Alfred State College to pursue CNC programming. Good luck, Joe.

CO-OP SPOTLIGHT
Zayli Thompson
Zayli is a senior in the marketing program who found her marketing classes both engaging and easy to understand. For her co-op placement, Zayli chose to work at the YMCA, where she welcomed members, processed membership paperwork, assisted with customer concerns, and performed various administrative tasks. She especially enjoyed her time at the YMCA because it allowed her to build meaningful relationships with community members—plus, getting paid during the school day was a nice bonus.
After graduation, Zayli plans to continue working at the YMCA over the summer before attending the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford in the fall. While she is still exploring her options for a major, she envisions a future career that offers a flexible schedule and opportunities to travel. Congratulations, Zayli!

CO-OP SPOTLIGHT
Kyler Hogue
Kyler is a junior in the carpentry program and has always wanted to follow in his father's footsteps to become a skilled carpenter. He has a strong interest in both framing and finish work and enjoys expanding his knowledge and skills in these areas. Within the program, Kyler serves as the class representative, demonstrating leadership and commitment to his trade.
This year, Kyler chose to participate in the co-op program, allowing him to gain valuable hands-on experience while earning an income and maintaining the flexibility needed to continue playing travel sports—something that would be more difficult with a traditional part-time job. He currently works at Gleason Construction, where he likes the supportive work environment, the opportunity to collaborate with a team, and the chance to learn tips from experienced carpenters.
On the job, Kyler assists with cutting and cleaning materials, forming and pouring concrete pads and curbs, and performing a variety of general carpentry tasks.
He plans to continue working at Gleason Construction throughout the summer and return for co-op during his senior year.

Big news from BAHS! Senior Ethan Rochna was selected to perform with the NAfME All-Eastern Honors Concert Band — one of the highest honors a high school instrumentalist can receive in the eastern U.S.!
Ethan went to Hartford, Connecticut, to rehearse and perform with top student musicians from 11 states and D.C. This prestigious opportunity only comes around every two years — and he’s the first instrumentalist in BAHS history to achieve this honor! If you know of a BAHS instrumentalist to achieve this, please comment them to help us celebrate and remember them as well.

CO-OP SPOTLIGHT
Zane Pressler
Zane is a senior in the Marketing program who chose to participate in co-op to gain real-world experience and take advantage of the opportunity to work during the school day. He enjoys the fast-paced nature of the workplace and prefers hands-on learning over a traditional classroom setting. Through his co-op placement at McDonald’s, where he serves as a crew trainer, Zane has been able to apply the customer service and communication skills he developed in his marketing classes. He likes working at McDonalds with his friends because even during busy or stressful times, the crew comes together to create a supportive and enjoyable environment.
After graduation, Zane plans to continue working at McDonald’s full time. Congratulations, Zane.

Marissa Newman
As a senior in the Health Occupations program, Marina has demonstrated a strong commitment to healthcare and hands-on learning. Drawn to nursing by her deep passion for patient care, Marina especially enjoyed the clinical portion of the program, where she had the opportunity to put classroom theory into practice in real healthcare environments. After earning her CNA certification in January, she began her co-op placement at the Bradford Ecumenical Home. There, she has found the experience both rewarding and educational, as she supports residents and continues to build her skills.
After graduation, Marina plans to attend Slippery Rock University to study biology, with aspirations of becoming an OB/GYN. Best of luck to Marina as she pursues her future in medicine.

Cyrus Stiles
Cyrus is a senior in the carpentry program, where he has developed a strong foundation in construction and hands-on building skills. For his co-op placement, he worked with Dream Builders Plus, gaining valuable experience across a range of projects. His responsibilities included building concrete forms, pouring and finishing concrete, framing walls, installing siding and flooring, completing roofing work, and assisting with various other carpentry tasks. Cyrus especially enjoyed learning new skills on the job, working alongside supportive co-workers, and earning money while still in school.
After graduation, he plans to join Dream Builders Plus full-time and continue growing in the trade. Congratulations, Cyrus.

CO-OP SPOTLIGHT
Blaze Schleicher
Blaze is a senior in our carpentry program who chose this path because of the wide range of career opportunities available in the construction industry. He enjoys the hands-on nature of carpentry and appreciates that no two days are the same. Blaze is especially interested in framing and foundation work.
This year, Blaze took advantage of our co-op program by working with Bob Cummins Construction. His goal was to gain real-world experience, develop new skills, and earn money—all while finishing his senior year. He is incredibly grateful for the opportunity and proud of how much he has learned throughout the year. During his time at Bob Cummins Construction, Blaze gained experience in a variety of areas. He learned how to shoot elevations with a laser, work with concrete forms, and construct a variety of projects in the shop. He also gained hands-on experience operating and maintaining equipment and trucks, performed plumbing tasks related to water lines, and took on numerous responsibilities as a laborer on job sites.
After graduation, Blaze plans to continue working full-time at Bob Cummins Construction, obtain his CDL, and join the carpenter's union. Congratulations, Blaze.

CO-OP SPOTLIGHT
Bella Rhoades
Bella is a senior in the Marketing program who chose to participate in co-op to gain valuable real-world experience in a professional business office environment. She hoped the experience would help her explore different areas of business and guide her focus as she prepares for college. For her co-op placement, Bella has been working in the Human Resources department at American Refining Group (ARG), where she plays an active role in day-to-day operations. Her responsibilities include scheduling interviews, updating audit forms, confirming the completion of safety trainings, preparing gifts for career fairs and service awards, updating job descriptions, and supporting a variety of administrative tasks. Bella has thoroughly enjoyed her time at ARG and is grateful for the knowledge, skills, and mentorship the experience has provided.
She plans to continue working there over the summer before heading to Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where she will major in Business. Bella has been accepted into the Robert Cook Honors Program and will also be a member of the IUP swim team. Congratulations, Bella, and best of luck as you dive into this exciting new chapter!

Congratulations to the April Career and Technical
Student of the Month – Carter Colley
Carter is a senior in the Engineering Technologies program, completing his 3rd year in the program. Carter has earned his OSHA10 and American Ladder certifications, Advanced NOTCI performance, member of the Bradford Sea, Air, Land Challenge Sea team earning 3rd place at the recent competition. Carter is also a member of Parkway Industrial, the BAHS CTE Manufacturing Enterprise program.
Carter is planning on attending Rochester Institute of Technology in the Fall studying Engineering Technology.

BAHS Early Childhood Education (ECE) Student joined with Seneca Highlands CTC ECE Students in Port Allegheny today to Connect and Celebrate ECE sponsored by Early Connections Erie. They visited ECE Vendors, received awards, and learned about available resources for high school students.

Mackenzie Taylor
Mackenzie is a senior in the marketing program. She completed her co-op placement as a marketing intern at W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery. During her time there, Mackenzie contributed to a variety of projects, including preparing new member packets for the Collectors Club, shipping products to customers and influencers, filing paperwork, working in the archives, and supporting a range of marketing initiatives. She chose the co-op experience to gain real-world exposure in the field.
After graduation, Mackenzie plans to pursue further studies in sports management, with the goal of one day working for the NBA. Good luck, Mackenzie.

Lily Wells
Lily is a senior in our Health Occupations program with a strong interest in nursing. She enjoys hands-on work and values the opportunity to apply the skills learned in class to real-world situations. After earning her CNA certification in January, Lily began her co-op placement at the Bradford Ecumenical Home. Her favorite aspect of the experience was forming meaningful connections with the residents she cared for.
Following graduation, Lily plans to attend the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford to pursue a degree in Radiologic Technology. Good luck, Lily.
