The ANF (Allegany National Forest) invited us to participate in a field study analyzing the health of our forests. Students walked through an unhealthy forest stand, another one marked for cutting, one recently cut in the early stages of growth, and one in mid-stages of growth. At each stop they shared different key features and different management techniques that can be applied.

This afternoon, it was brought to our attention that some of our parents and students have seen a National “swatting list” of schools named on the social media apps TikTok and or Snapchat. A local student did share this information thinking that it pertained to our specific schools and believed that an incident was to occur tomorrow. We have been aware that this list has been circulating for quite some time and no Bradford Area Schools are named specifically and no Bradford Area schools have been threatened. However, we want to reassure students, parents, and faculty that we are monitoring the situation with our local police department and will have increased security in our buildings tomorrow as an added precaution.

In honors chemistry we are investigating density. The students were to devise a way to make a 3 layered test tube using only sugar, water and food coloring. The trick is to make the densities of the solutions different enough so they don’t mix together in the test tube.
