Machine Technology Class

Precision Machinists are highly skilled workers who set up and operate all types of basic and advanced machine tools using precision measuring instruments. Machine Technology students gain a basic understanding of machine tools, measuring instruments, metals and blueprint reading to prepare them for skilled positions in manufacturing or post-secondary training.

The program provides a three-year nationally certified program based on National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS) standards and related curriculum.  Students will earn NIMS credentials that are nationally recognized by employers and post-secondary learning institutions.

 An individual completing this program could pursue the following career paths:

  • CNC Programmer
  • CNC Operator
  • Machinist
  • Machine Tool Operator
