Honor Flight

Four local veterans were recognized and given a heartfelt, patriotic sendoff ahead of their trip on the Buffalo-Niagara Honor Flight in Washington, D.C. Charles Kaefer (Marines), Larry Fox (Army), Ronald Mangel (Marines), and Robert Witchen (Army) were honored on Friday by the Bradford Area School District.

In addition, six Bradford Area High School seniors were recognized during the luncheon for their upcoming service in the United States military—an inspiring reminder that the next generation is ready to carry forward the legacy of service and sacrifice.

Students, faculty, staff, and community members lined the streets in a powerful display of patriotism, honoring these Vietnam veterans with the recognition they so greatly deserve.

A special thank you to Tom Petrie, President of the Buffalo Niagara Honor Flight, for making this meaningful trip possible and giving our veterans the opportunity to experience a memorable visit to our nation’s capital.

Our school board president, Carla Manion, create a video to commemorate the day.
