Dear Bradford Area School District Families and Community,
It is with great pride and excitement that I welcome you to a new school year as your Superintendent. Having served in the District for over 20 years, I am deeply honored to continue my journey in this new role. I am committed to the Bradford community, and I have cherished the privilege of watching so many of our students grow into accomplished young adults during their time in our schools.
I could not be prouder of our outstanding staff. Our administrative team has worked together for many years and provides steady, thoughtful leadership. Our teachers are deeply dedicated to the success of every student, and our support staff—including paraprofessionals, technology specialists, office staff, custodians, secretaries, bus drivers, and cafeteria staff—work tirelessly to ensure our schools run smoothly and that both students and staff are well supported.
At the heart of all we do is our mission: to provide opportunities for academic and personal success by fostering relationships, promoting perseverance, encouraging problem-solving, and offering collaborative experiences in a safe and nurturing environment. The word “opportunities” is especially important. In Bradford, we are proud to provide so much more than academics. Our students have access to a wide range of programs and experiences, including athletics, extracurricular clubs, advanced placement courses, college-in-the-high-school options, career and technical education, band, chorus, and cooperative education programs. We also make sure students’ needs are met beyond the classroom by offering free breakfast and lunch for all, food pantries in every building, and personal essentials such as sneakers and supplies for any student who requests them.
As we move forward together, please know that we are here for you. If concerns arise, I encourage you to reach out directly to your child’s principal or to me. Working together, we can solve problems in a way that benefits everyone. While social media often fuels frustration, real solutions come from honest conversations and collaboration.
I am honored to serve as your Superintendent, and I look forward to continuing our shared work of supporting the growth and success of every Bradford Owl.
With gratitude and commitment,
Erin Waugaman, Superintendent
