BASD Technology Services

Director of Technology - David W. Green

The Technology Department serves as a centralized hub of customer‑focused support, delivering secure, reliable, and innovative technology services to students, faculty, administrators, and support staff across seven District buildings. The department plays a vital role in supporting instructional, operational, and safety needs, ensuring technology enhances teaching, learning, and daily District operations.

Core services include the procurement, deployment, maintenance, and lifecycle management of hardware and software; network and telecommunications support; cybersecurity protections; Internet filtering; data privacy and regulatory compliance; staff and student email administration; website and digital content management; and comprehensive printing and classroom technology services. The department is also responsible for device inventory control, repair services, refresh cycles, and secure end‑of‑life processes in support of fiscal responsibility and sustainability.

Working in close collaboration with instructional staff and school leadership, the Technology Department supports learning management systems, classroom presentation technologies, assistive and accessibility tools, and digital resources that promote equitable access to learning opportunities for all students. A strong emphasis is placed on cybersecurity awareness, system monitoring, disaster recovery planning, and safeguarding sensitive student and staff data.

In addition to information technology services, the Technology Department maintains and supports critical physical security and communication systems that contribute directly to the safety and operational readiness of District facilities. These services include entrance security systems, visitor management platforms, emergency notification and alerting systems, and integrated building communication solutions.

The department oversees public address, clock, bell, and internal communication systems to ensure consistent scheduling, clear announcements, and reliable coordination across all buildings. Support is also provided for licensed and unlicensed band two‑way radio communication systems utilized by administrators, security personnel, transportation, facilities, and event staff to enable real‑time coordination during daily operations and emergency situations.

Additionally, the Technology Department supports sound and audio systems in auditoriums, gymnasiums, and other large instructional or event spaces, ensuring these environments are fully functional for assemblies, performances, athletic events, and community activities. Through the management and integration of these systems, the department plays a key role in maintaining secure, well‑coordinated, and responsive learning environments.

Beyond the school buildings, the Technology Department provides technical support for contracted services such as Food Services and Transportation, ensuring efficient system integration and continuity of operations across the District.

The Technology Department also serves as a strategic partner to the Career and Technical Education (CTE) department. By collaborating closely with CTE educators, the team provides specialized technical support for advanced hardware, software, and industry‑specific technologies. This partnership fosters innovation, supports hands‑on learning, and ensures students gain experience with modern tools that prepare them for postsecondary education, certifications, and successful careers.

Through responsive customer service, continuous improvement, and strategic planning, the Technology Department remains committed to supporting the District’s educational mission while building secure, future‑ready learning environments.
