The program prepares individuals for employment in residential, commercial and industrial electrical industries. Electricians install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair electrical systems in accordance with National Electrical Code (NEC) specifications. Individuals employed in the field may be employed in areas related to residential and commercial construction or they may become technical specialists focusing on maintaining and repairing the equipment found in factories, business offices, hospitals, schools, stores, and homes.
