Upcoming Events

Beginning in October, counselors have started to meet with high school seniors to discuss and explain the necessary steps students should take to finalize their post-secondary plans.  Within these essential meetings, a number of the following items are often discussed and they include:  college application process (transcript requests, essays, letters of recommendation, fees/waivers), admissions testing (SAT's, ACT's, other exams), college visits (virtual tours, open house dates, excused absence policy), college representative visits to BAHS, financial aid (FAFSA dates and completion nights), college classes (cost, transferability, process), scholarship opportunities (local, national), military options (recruiters, ASVAB's, benefits), and employment preparation (resume, cover letter, references, job shadowing).  Additionally, seniors are provided with a timeline of events which will serve as a guideline for both what to expect and/or what steps they should be taking from one month to the next in their final year of high school.  Lastly, seniors and their parents are encouraged to ask questions and follow up with their guidance counselor after this "Senior Exit Meeting".
