Mathematics
Concepts dealing with
algebra, geometry, probability, statistics, measurement
and number systems will be developed using a variety of
manipulatives. Problem-solving techniques (patterns,
working backwards, guess and check, etc.) will be used throughout
the course. The appropriate use of calculators will
be encouraged. Time will be available for student
conferencing and reteaching based on various learning styles.
Individual and group work will allow students to communicate
ideas orally and in writing while connecting them to real-life
situations and previous experiences.
