Students
will develop an understanding of "health" (physical,
mental/emotional, family/social) risk behaviors/healthful
behaviors and health concerns for teenagers.
Seventh
graders will explore the effects of drugs, alcohol and tobacco
on body systems. Emphasis will be placed on effective
decision-making, positive character traits, and prevention
strategies. The short-term and long-term consequences
of teenage pregnancy will be developed. The effects
of AIDS on body systems will be discussed. The DARE
program will be presented by a trained police officer.
